Black History for those in search of Black Facts

Black history is world history. Unfortunately black people in America and other parts of the African Diaspora are not taught the truth about their ancestors in the western education system. It became the habit of the early European scholars to attribute any sign of advanced civilization and culture in Africa to outside non-black influence. The texts and literature contributed by these racist individuals has influenced and continues to influence the world history that is taught to all children of African descent living in the West. Black History Month is meant to highlight black history and bring about cultural awareness to all Americans. Unfortunately 28 days does little to combat the lies and half-truths we are subjected to the other 337 days of the year. As we go further into the 21st century True black history is imperative for Knowledge Of Self so that we can better control our destiny as a people in the West. With the end of the Civil Rights Era came the end of all the unity and black pride the once sustained us in our battle to gain equality. If we do not regain our sense of self we are doomed to remain at the bottom of the social and economic structure of the western world. Black history cannot solve all of our problems but the truth (the good and the bad) can do nothing but speed our ascension.The purpose of neo-kem is to help educate black people and all people of African descent in the West about themselves. Not themselves individually but themselves as a people. So that we can remember who we were, realize who we are, and shape who we become.
